Delivering a Good Night’s Sleep
On October 7th, Furnish Hope participated in an extraordinary project benefiting the Warm Springs community that reinforced what is possible when agencies and individuals join hands to meet a need. Thanks to an outpouring of community support, invaluable donations from Sleep in Heavenly Peace, and the engagement of FAN advocates for Jefferson County School District and Warm Springs leaders, seventy-five children received the essentials for a good night’s sleep.
The catalyst for this effort came in August when Furnish Hope attended a back-to-school BBQ to share our mission and, along with other agencies, connect Warm Springs to available resources. In distributing bedding bundles, we learned that many children did not yet have a bed. While the initial estimate counted a dozen children lacking beds, over time, we learned that the need was much greater.
As with so many efforts tied to Furnish Hope, the miraculous happened and we were able to amass enough mattresses, bed frames, pillows and bed linens - enough to meet the needs of 75 elementary and middle-school aged children.
The morning after these beds were distributed to Warm Springs families, the local FAN advocate relayed a message from a young girl who shared that she had enjoyed the best night sleep ever in her very own bed. To us, that says it all!
Ground-Breaking Goals and Holiday Magic
Our partnership with Warm Springs Indian Reservation began in 2019 and has strengthened over time due to continued engagement and mutual trust. October marked a ground-breaking moment with the donation of an on-site satellite space on site to house home essentials and expedite fulfillment of recipient needs.
On December 2nd, we will host our second annual Christmas giveaway where donated holiday decor will be gifted to the Warm Springs community at a festive event, meant to help families create their own holiday magic.
We remain committed to returning to Warm Springs with deliveries of furniture, essentials and hope and, as always, we remain grateful to all those who help make this possible. We remain committed to returning to Warm Springs with deliveries of furniture, essentials and hope.
